The French artist and multi-instrumentalist Pierre Bastien will replace the British trio Darkstar at the Bimhuis on day 2 of the Viral Radio Festival. Due to family matters Darkstar have had to cancel their performance. Naturally, we respect their decision, and wish them all the best in the coming days. Darkstar will now play on a new Viral Radio night at the Bimhuis on Friday 14 January. Pierre Bastien is a regular support act of Squarepusher, and has released work on Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label. The line up on Saturday consists of Ras G, Knalpot, Juha and Cinnaman.

Zeitgeist-riding artist that discovers new genres faster than you can say future garage.
Tonight will be another edition of Viral Radio at Trouw. This time we present our dearest friend and close relative Aardvarck, possibly the best half-man-half-bear-half-pig since ManBearPig. He was recently selected by Thom Yorke in his playlist of current favourites. And since Aardvarck likes Viral Radio, does this not logically mean that Thom Yorke also likes Viral Radio? We were never good at math, or philosophy since for that matter, but at least we have friends with fans in high places. So come on down, why won’t you? Admission is free before 12.
See you there.
Juha & Yuri.

Viral Radio introduces Hyperrhythm at North Sea Jazz Festival this Friday: Dimlite, Hudson Mohawke, Dorian Concept, Mike Slott, Cinnaman and Juha. In 2006, Viral Radio started out as a radio show covering dubstep on Dutch public radio. Four years later, it has become part of an international network of the beat-driven electronic music vanguard. At North Sea Jazz Festival, Hyperrhythm tries to represent the whole spectrum of frequencies and speeds currently controlling dance floors around the world.
