Next week the second Viral Radio Festival will take place in Amsterdam. After the first edition in June 2008, that took place on one night at the Bimhuis and 11, we have grown to three venues in three nights. On Wednesday1 July we will have a CD-R night with Hudson Mohawke, Cinnaman, Icarus and Gavin and Tony from London. Bring your own beats and get feedback from the pros. On Thursday we will have Icarus, Furt and Mamiko Motto at the wonderful Bimhuis. And on Friday, the grand finale of the festival will take place with Daedelus, Hudson Mohawke, Bullion, the Blessings, and Juha & Cinnaman.
Tickets are 5 euros on Wednesday (but free if you bring beats), 15 on Thursday, and 12 on Friday. If you send an enthusiastic e-mail to info at viralradio dot net with, your ticket on Thursday will only be 10 euros.
As always, we look forward to seeing you at these nights, and we thank you for your support.

We want your music (photo: Rosa Koolhoven)
Viral Radio is returning to the radio a week from now, on Dutch public network 3voor12 (which might make us the Mary and Ann of the Netherlands). We will focus on new ventures in beat-driven bass-laden gravity-defying electronic music. We are looking for new producers to showcase, previously unheard tracks to testdrive, and quantum algorhythms to solve.
Bring it on, either here, there or elsewhere. Thank you.

I would like to start with an apology to those whom I told this would not be a party. This was outrageous. On a Tuesday evening our two friends from Los Angeles Alfred and Kev dropped by with a bag full of beats and a box covered with lights. Daddy Kev and Daedelus made our brains tingle, in a place with a history of autopsy. “Don’t be dead bodies,” as Daedelus so cunningly put it.
SMART Project Space is situated in a former anatomic laboratory, and has recently opened as multidisciplinary arts space. Viral Radio has been asked to kick off the music programme, and we anticipate a wonderful continuation. Thanks to those who were there, we look forward to the museumnacht after party on 1 November.
What are your thoughts?
